Employee Trainings

Annual trainings and new staff trainings assist greatly in the education and well-being of staff, students and campus life.

Extended Education Opportunities

Staff who are looking for options to increase their skills can find resources locally and online. These courses may cost the employee money and are not the only way and may not be the least expensive way to gain these skills. This is merely a way to share helpful information for those who may be interested and the employee is responsible for finding the best opportunity for them.

Please contact Human Resources with any questions regarding the earning of units and any changes to salary schedule placement.

Annual Trainings

INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT

NEW! As of July 1, 2016, all staff who use disinfecting wipes will be required by law to participate in a training to learn about safe pesticide use around children. Under no circumstances will staff be permitted to use disinfecting products, wipes, or sanitizers* without taking this training. These restrictions also include ant bait traps, insect sprays, bait gels and pastes.

WHY? Antimicrobials like disinfectants and sanitizers are pesticides because they are designed to kill germs on surfaces. All pesticides must be used in accordance with label instructions and out of the reach of children. The Healthy Schools Act requires that all school staff who use these products must be properly trained.

CHILD ABUSE & MANDATED REPORTER TRAINING

Assembly Bill (AB) 1432 (Chapter 797/2014) requires that districts provide annual training for employees in their responsibilities as mandated reporters. Employees will learn about their responsibilities as mandated reporters, will be trained on the signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect, and will find out what they will need to do to correctly file a report.

BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN TRAINING

To ensure that all staff are properly informed about bloodborne pathogens, a training is provided annually to staff. Employees who may incur occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials will need to be trained, regardless of exposure frequency.
